President Prabowo to Inaugurate Sudaryono as Head of National Nutrition Agency

President Prabowo Subianto is slated to inaugurate Sudaryono as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (07/22). In his statement, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi conveyed that Nanik Sudaryati Deyang had officially submitted her resignation letter as the Head of BGN to the President.
“Mrs. Nanik submitted her resignation to the President in her capacity as the Head of BGN due to health reasons, as she currently wishes to focus primarily on her recovery. She has officially submitted her letter of resignation,” he stated.
According to the Minister, the inauguration is intended to ensure the continuity of the agency’s duties, thereby preventing a leadership vacuum.
“BGN is an institution whose work cannot be delayed. Therefore, the President promptly accepted her resignation and immediately appointed a successor, who is scheduled to be inaugurated today as well, ensuring that the agency’s duties can continue without interruption,” he explained.
The Minister also noted that Sudaryono’s appointment was made after careful consideration. In addition to having involved in the formulation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program from the outset, Sudaryono is also considered to have a comprehensive understanding of both the concept and technical implementation of this priority program.
“From the very beginning, he has been involved in discussions with all of us in designing and conceptualizing the technical implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals program,” he revealed.
Furthermore, the Minister added that Sudaryono’s experience as Vice Minister of Agriculture is another key consideration, as the implementation of the MBG program is closely linked to the support of the agricultural sector as the supplier of food ingredients.
“After all, the sources of raw materials and food ingredients used for Free Nutritious Meals program for these beneficiaries have all along been supported and sustained through an ecosystem developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, where Mr. Sudaryono serves as Vice Minister,” he concluded.
