“It sets a clear signal that Indonesia and the United States are choosing to continue deeper economic cooperation, stronger market access, and greater certainty for business,” remarked the President.
President Prabowo highlighted the importance of certainty for business. Therefore, stability, the rule of law, and good governance are vital to create a climate that is attractive to foreign investment.
“No one wants to invest in a situation or an atmosphere of uncertainty, instability, or even chaos. We are very fortunate that Indonesia has enjoyed a quite long period of relative stability, relative peace,” he said.
Regarding economic fundamentals, the President expressed optimism about national economic performance, as foreign investment reached US$53 billion last year. Indonesia’s economic growth has become more stable and this will continue to grow much higher this year.
“The tangible indicators are already showing up. We are moving the economy from the grassroots. Our economic strategy is very focused,” he said.
In addition, the President emphasized that Indonesia invites a serious long-term partner to cooperate in economic development that would bring mutual benefit.
“We hope we can find partners who are ready to join us in our efforts to modernization and industrialization,” he said.
President Prabowo’s message marked Indonesia’s position as a stable, open, and ready to be the new global growth centre, which is supported by legal certainty, strong domestic market, and long-term economic transformation in order to realize Golden Indonesia 2045.
