President Prabowo Underscores Unity at 2025 National Christmas Celebration

President Prabowo Subianto attended the 2025 National Christmas Celebration on Monday (1/5) held at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta. The celebration featured a theme, “Allah Hadir Menyelamatkan Bangsa/God’s Presence to Save the Nation,” reflecting a momentum for a stronger faith, hope, and family security as the main foundation of life as a nation.
In his remarks, President Prabowo greeted a Merry Christmas 2025 to all Christians across Indonesia. He noted that the Christmas values, such as love, sacrifice, and care, match with Indonesian values that uphold humanity and solidarity. He also urged all people to live in harmony, strengthen unity, and work together amid national challenges.
“I am deeply grateful for the honor bestowed upon me, to be here today, and I wish Merry Christmas to all my Christian fellow countrymen and women everywhere. May the peace of Christmas bring kindness, blessings, love, hope, and strength to us all,” said the President.
The solemn celebration was started with a national prayer led by the National Church Organizations. The prayer expressed gratitude to God the Almighty and hopes for peace, unity, and prosperity for all the Indonesian people.
The celebration intensifies with the Christmas Theatrical performance by Indonesian Churches Communion (PGI) and Indonesian Bishop Conference (KWI). The theatrical performance showed the love of God which saves and strengthens families amid life challenges. Later on, the Chairperson of PGI also delivered a Christmas message following the performance.
The remarks of Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar created a warm atmosphere as he stated that the event was not only a religious celebration, but also a momentum to strengthen cross-religion unity. He said that the Christmas message was in line with religious moderation echoed by Government, that is, achieving a peaceful, harmonious, and respectful religious life.
“The 2025 National Christmas Celebration is special with the presence of President of the Republic of Indonesia. It shows the Government’s attention and commitment to the diversity of religious life in Indonesia, and together with the people, to create harmony as well as to uphold spiritual values and humanity as the main foundation of life as nation and a state,” said the Minister.
Also attending the event were Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Chairperson of Regional Representatives Council (DPD) Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, Commander of Indonesian National Defense Forces General Agus Subiyanto, Chief of the National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Chiefs of Defense Staff, national figures, and religious leaders.
