President Prabowo gives directives during the Plenary Cabinet Meeting held at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday (03/13).

President Prabowo Subianto called on all government ranks to set an example of modesty to the public ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

This was conveyed by the President at the Plenary Cabinet Meeting held at the State Palace on Friday (03/13).

In his directive, President Prabowo extended greetings to the public who will carry out the annual homecoming (mudik) tradition. The Head of State expressed hope that the public can travel safely and continue to maintain safety in their hometowns.

“For those who want to mudik later, I extend my greetings: wish everyone a safe trip and take care of yourselves,” said President Prabowo.

He also reminded his ranks to celebrate Eid al-Fitr modestly. According to him, annual Eid-related activities like open house should not be excessive so that the Government can set a good example to the public.

“The Government must set an example. For open house or other activities, do not make it too lavish. We’re having a natural disaster so let us give an example to the people. But we also shouldn’t completely cancel our events, because if we do that, our economy won’t run either,” the President added.

He also reminded the public not to be easily influenced by negative narratives, saying that the national economy is in bad condition. The President assessed that various indicators show Indonesia’s economy remains strong.

Closing his remarks, President Prabowo once again urged all cabinet members to continue working with full responsibility, maintain public trust in the Government, and ensure that economic stability remains maintained ahead of the Eid al-Fitr. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (EST/LW)
