President Prabowo visits Malaysia to Meet PM Anwar for Eid Silaturahmi

President Prabowo Subianto paid a visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday (04/06) to meet with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri.

“Yes, that’s right. Later tonight he will meet PM Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur and will immediately return to Jakarta tonight,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in a written statement.

“Yes, it’s a state visit, still in the atmosphere of Eid,” he added.

President Prabowo and a limited entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta. President Prabowo is slated to arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Selangor, from Jakarta and then head to Putrajaya.

At Putrajaya, President Prabowo will stay in touch with PM Anwar at his official residence in Seri Perdana Complex. In his statement, Cabinet Secretary also said that President Prabowo highly respects PM Anwar as a senior leader in ASEAN with long experience.

“He first became prime minister, he is also more senior in age, and he is an old friend of the President,” the Cabinet Secretary added. (APN/MUR) (BPMI Setpres)
