Thousands of people from all over Indonesia packed the Presidential Palace in Jakarta for the Eid Al-Fitr 1446 Hijri Open House which was held by President Prabowo Subianto on Monday, March 31, 2025. Since the morning, long lines of people with great enthusiasm were seen around the Palace’s complex.

The atmosphere full of warm and togetherness was felt during the moment of Eid Al-Fitr celebration. This annual tradition provides an opportunity for the citizens to meet directly and have a silaturrahim with the Head of State.

In this open house, President Prabowo warmly welcomed the arrival of citizens. The Head of State also greeted each person and shake their hands one by one as he conveyed Eid Al-Fitr greetings to them.

Tarni, a resident of Wonogiri, could not hold back her tears when she finally met the President during the Eid celebration. She said that the information on television she watched has encouraged her to celebrate Eid in Jakarta this year.

“President Prabowo is close to the people, I am very grateful. I am so happy and feel so touched, so I couldn’t hold my tears because President Prabowo doesn’t discriminate the poor, the commoners,” said Tarni.

To President Prabowo, Tarni also conveyed her hope that the President would continue to remember his people. “Hopefully President Prabowo will continue to be healthy, be more successful, always remember the little people, the commoners, and he will always remember and keep the little people in mind,” she added.

The gratitude for being able to celebrate Eid at the Palace was also expressed by Hendri as a Jakarta resident. Hendri said that this year he and his family performed the Eid prayer 1446 Hijri at the Istiqlal Mosque and then gathered with the citizens at the Palace.

“Alhamdulillah, our family is happy to have this opportunity today, in this Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri. We feel blessed to able to gather together with the people of Jakarta to go to the Presidential Palace. And hopefully I can meet President Prabowo directly,” said Hendri.

Not only for the commoners, but this open house is also disability friendly. Imam, one of the visitors, expressed his joy for the equal opportunity for the general public and people with disabilities to meet the President.

“Alhamdulillah, our heart is full, people with disabilities can gather with the President and his ministers too,” said Imam.

The open house received public appreciation because it reflects the closeness between the leader and his people.
