Upon arrival, President Prabowo was welcomed by Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. The two leaders walked side by side to Saluting Dais where the ceremony took place.

The atmosphere turned solemn as both countries’ national anthems Indonesia Raya and Majulah Singapura were reverberated, signaling the beginning of the state welcoming ceremony.

Afterward, President Prabowo, accompanied by President Tharman, conducted an inspection of the ranks of honor and returned to Saluting Dais to receive a report from the ranks of honor commander.

Following the ceremony, President Prabowo signed the guest book at the Parliament House’s foyer as a sign of respect and friendship between the two neighboring countries, then had a courtesy call with his Singaporean counterpart and the two countries’ delegates.

In his remarks, President Tharman expressed appreciation for President Prabowo’s first state visit to Singapore and revisited the good, longstanding relations between President Prabowo and Singapore.

“Thank you for honoring us with your visit. We truly looked forward to it, but I must say that you have been an old friend to Singapore. You know us very well,” he said.

The meeting served as a milestone to strengthen diplomatic relations and strategic partnerships between Indonesia and Singapore in multiple sectors.
