President Prabowo Welcomes President Erdoğan in State Ceremony at Bogor Palace

President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the arrival of President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java Province, Wednesday (02/12), during his state visit to Indonesia. This visit serves as a historic momentum in order to strengthen the diplomatic relations that have been closely established for 75 years between Indonesia and Türkiye.

Upon his arrival at the Bogor Presidential Palace, President Erdoğan was greeted by 75 cavalry personnel, as a symbol of the friendship that has existed for more than seven decades. The warm atmosphere was further enhanced by the presence of the honor guard, Lokananta drum band, and students who also gave a warm welcome.

President Prabowo welcomed President Erdoğan directly in the right porch of the Bogor Presidential Palace, before the two heads of state walked to the welcoming area. The state ceremony began with the playing of the national anthems of both countries accompanied by the sound of 21 cannon salvos, reflecting the deep honor and friendship between Indonesia and Türkiye.

Afterwards, the two heads of state inspected the honor guards who were neatly lined up in the front yard of the Bogor Presidential Palace. After inspecting the guards, President Prabowo introduced the Indonesian delegation to President Erdoğan, followed by President Erdoğan who introduced the delegation from Türkiye.

After the introductory session, the two heads of state headed to the Lotus Room for a group photo session and signing of the state guest book. The agenda was then continued with a face-to-face meeting in the President’s office to discuss strategic cooperation in more depth.

Afterwards, President Prabowo and President Erdoğan headed to the Garuda Room to hold a bilateral meeting with other delegates to discuss various partnership opportunities for the two countries. In his introductory remarks, President Prabowo expressed his respect for President Erdoğan’s visit which coincided with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Türkiye.

“Indonesia’s relations with Türkiye have been quite long since the Ottoman Empire, so the spiritual relationship between us is quite deep,” said President Prabowo.

This state visit was closed with a luncheon in the backyard of the Palace by President Prabowo to President Erdoğan as a form of respect and a symbol of friendship between the two countries. This visit reaffirmed the commitment of Indonesia and Türkiye to continue to strengthen cooperation and establish closer relations in various sectors. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/ABD) (TM/LW)
