As part of the Presidential Inspection, President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (10/02) witnessed a naval demonstration and sailing pass aboard the KRI dr. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat (RJW-992), led by Commander of the Naval Combat Group of Koarmada I Rear Admiral Nurlan, who acted as Task Force Commander.

According to Nurlan, the display was not only intended to demonstrate combat capabilities but also highlighted the participation of various national maritime elements, ranging from patrol boats to fishing vessels, working together to underscore that maritime defense is a collective responsibility of the entire nation.

“We will divide the demonstration into several formations, comprising around seven ship divisions. This will be followed by a display of the Navy’s special forces and, finally, the Indonesian Navy’s air power,” Nurlan said.

The demonstration opened with a distant view of the ocean, where silhouettes of warships advanced in unison, forming tight formations, breaking through the waves, and projecting power meant to intimidate any potential adversaries along their path.

The atmosphere grew more intense as the anti-submarine division showcased its underwater weaponry, while fast boats maneuvered swiftly across the surface, deploying Frogman Command (Kopaska) troops into strategic positions.

Amid the demonstration, a naval combat simulation was also presented, with Indonesian Navy ships engaging in tactical formations that showcased both offensive and defensive maneuvers. The exercise featured blank cannon fire, helicopter airstrikes, and the infiltration of special forces into designated target areas.

The scene highlighted how modern naval warfare is conducted through an integrated strategy, combining surface, underwater, and aerial forces.

“Later, we will feature an amphibious ship or landing craft division, where our anti-aircraft capabilities will be demonstrated, followed by a display of the Marines’ coastal defense systems, including the launch of RM-DRAT rockets,” Nurlan added.

The demonstration also included patrol boats alongside Indonesia’s iconic tall ships, KRI Bima Suci and KRI Dewaruci, which stood out with their majestic masts.

“In the submarine division, elements of the maritime community will also take part, represented by fishing vessels joining the convoy. The demonstration will conclude with displays of the Navy’s special forces and air power,” Nurlan said

As the finale of the sea demonstration, the Rajawali Laut Flight showcased a series of precision maneuvers. The weaving movements of the aircraft, combined with bold and dynamic formations, highlighted the skill, resilience, and cohesion of Indonesian Navy pilots.

The spectacle reached its peak when all the aircraft took off simultaneously from a single point, symbolizing the fighting spirit and readiness to defend the nation’s sovereignty. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RIF/LW)
