President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo officially commenced the construction of the Australian Independent School (AIS) Nusantara during a groundbreaking ceremony held on Wednesday (09/25). The President emphasized the urgency of having international schools in Nusantara Capital, as a strategic step towards providing world-class educational facilities.

“The AIS Nusantara campus will be built on a 7,900 square meter area and is ready to accommodate approximately 750 students, from preschool to high school,” President Jokowi stated.

The school will be equipped with various international-standard facilities, including modern classrooms, mini soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, badminton courts, volleyball courts, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, and an auditorium with a capacity of 250 people.

“This shows our firm commitment to providing various world-class facilities in IKN, including world-class international educational institutions,” he added.

The President went on to emphasize that with AIS’s 28 years of experience in education, the school is expected to provide high-quality global education for children in IKN.

“It will be able to provide world-class education, promote high-level global education, and offer quality educational choices for residents in Nusantara Capital, coming from various regions, countries, and backgrounds,” he said.
