President Subianto Meets Joe Biden at the White House

President Prabowo Subianto Tuesday (11/12) held a bilateral meeting with President of the United States Joe Biden at the White House in Washington D.C.

President Subianto arrived at the White House through the Northwest Gate.

As the presidential motorcade entered the White House compound, a line of soldiers holding flags representing the 50 states paid their respects, symbolizing the goodwill and friendship between the two countries.

The motorcade then stopped in front of the West Wing Portico where President Subianto disembarked and was greeted by Acting U.S. Chief of Protocol Ethan Rosenzweig.

Afterwards, President Subianto was escorted to the Roosevelt Room to sign the guest book as a mark of honor for his visit. The moment marked the formal beginning of the high-level meeting between the two countries, which have a long history of diplomatic relations.

From the Roosevelt Room, the Indonesian President proceeded to the Oval Office and was warmly greeted by President Joe Biden. The two leaders shook hands before starting their talk.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both leaders to address several strategic issues, including cooperation in various fields based on friendship and mutual respect. (BPMI/DNS) (EST/EP)
