Press Statement of President Joko Widodo after Receiving Second Dose of Booster Vaccine, Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java Province, 24 November 2022

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

This morning, I have just received the second booster vaccine jab and I hereby invite the people, especially health workers, the elderly, as well as people who have high interactions among communities. As of today, the Government has administered 205 million doses of first vaccine, 172 million doses of second vaccine. As for first booster vaccine, we have administered 66 million doses and 730 thousand doses of second booster vaccine, still far from the target.

You may be wondered, why we need this booster shot? This is important to be carried out so that we can maintain our immunity and can curb the COVID-19 transmission. This is a paramount issue. In addition, today we use IndoVac vaccine, a 100 percent domestic product.
