I had a phone call with Governor of South Kalimantan province to find out about update on floods that hit the province. I also have ordered Head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), and Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to send aids immediately, particularly rubber lifeboat needed in mitigation of floods.

Once again, I call on the public to raise awareness of risks of floods and land slides since there is an extreme increase in rainfall intensity this month. Please heed warning issued by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

I will continue to monitor the updates of disaster-hit regions, including Sumedang, Majene, West Sulawesi, and South Kalimantan. I want Regional and Central Governments to be present for the people during disasters.

I thank you.
