Sir, may I ask you, first of all, what was your impression and message upon your first arrival in Alor regency? Secondly, did you perhaps conduct an inspection at the market and school, for example?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
Well, it’s a very, very beautiful regency and island. The marine wealth, the marine resources are extraordinary. So, I hope that the Regent, the Governor, can prepare a master plan, prepare a design so that Alor can attract as many tourists as possible, just like Bali and Labuan Bajo. I think it has the strength; it has the opportunity; it has the potential.

Secondly, in the market I also inspected the prices, especially those related to the nine basic supplies. The prices are fine, although they are higher than in Java due to additional transportation costs. I think the prices are still stable, reasonable, and good. Earlier, for example, garlic was at Rp55 [thousand], shallots at Rp50 [thousand], then chilies at Rp50 [thousand], I think the prices are still fine.

And lastly, the SMKN 1 has six majors, six departments, and in practice I see that students are encouraged to participate actively. Like the one related to computer networks, all of them are given good practical lessons. Then, in the commercial shipping of nautical department, there is also a practice room that mimics that of a ship. I believe this is excellent, I believe it is excellent. For matters related to the shortcomings such as practical equipment and others, we will help a bit.

Journalists
Mr. President, one question please. After your direct inspection to the market and vocational school, although you are about to end this tenure, is it possible to revoke the moratorium on the expansion of new autonomous regions?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
I will ask the new president, the new administration. I only have three weeks left, I cannot decide on strategic matters.
