Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia at Mass COVID-19 Vaccination for Artists and Cultural Practitioners on 19 April 2021, at the Indonesia National Gallery, Special Capital Region of Jakarta

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We must state the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic is real and it is not over yet in our country. Therefore, we must remain vigilant. We cannot let our guard down. We cannot underestimate COVID-19. The curve is currently better, declining. We must not let it rise again because we are no longer alert and vigilant.

This morning, thank God, we gathered here with artists, cultural practitioners, musicians, theater actors, and traditional artists to get vaccinated. And we hope everyone here can be protected and will not be exposed to COVID-19 so they can do their activities as per usual.

That concludes my speech on this auspicious occasion. Everything went well and we hope that with more people getting vaccinated, the COVID-19 transmission rate can decrease.
