Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia During Inauguration of Toll Road Sections from Indrapura to Kisaran, Indrapura-Lima Puluh Section, and Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Section, Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Section at Lima Puluh Toll Gate, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province, February 7, 2024

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good morning,

May peace be upon us all,

Distinguished Minister of Transportation, Chairperson of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mrs. Meutya Hafid,

Governor of North Sumatra Province along with tRegents of Batu Bara, Simalungun, Asahan, and Mayor of Tebing Tinggi,

Distinguished community leaders attending the occasion,

President Directors of state-owned enterprises,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Praise be to Allah, this morning we will officially inaugurate the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura toll road section and the Indrapura-Lima Puluh toll road section. Both of these toll roads are part of the Trans-Sumatra toll road; the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road with a length of 20.4 km costing Rp3.06 trillion and the Indrapura-Lima Puluh toll road section with a length of 15.6 km costing Rp1.67 trillion.

These two toll sections will enhance connectivity to the tourism areas around Lake Toba, improve logistics shipping speed to Kuala Tanjung Por, and to places related to the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (KEK). We hope this will also rapidly cut and accelerate travel time from Medan and its surrounding areas to Kisaran and Riau province; thus boosting economic growth in the region and the surroundings.

I am confident that with the construction of these toll roads, there will be more investments, more investors coming to develop various potentials in North Sumatra province. It will also increase tourism visits to super-priority destinations around Lake Toba and streamline logistics costs to Kuala Tanjung Port and the Sei Mangkei KEK.

That concludes my remarks.

We hope that with these toll roads, there will be an increase in regional competitiveness, the encouragement of new businesses, and the creation of as many job opportunities as possible.

By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I herebt officially inaugurate the Indrapura-Kisaran toll road section, the Indrapura-Lima Puluh section, and the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat section, Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura in Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra province.
