Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia During Inspection of Door-to-Door COVID-19 Vaccination Drive, 19 October 2021, Tarakan City, North Kalimantan Province
Today I came to Tarakan City in North Kalimantan Province to inspect the door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination arranged by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).
The vaccinators come to the residents’ houses to vaccinate the residents. This program aims to facilitate the people in getting vaccine immediately and to achieve the Government’s target of vaccinating more than seventy percent of the population by the end of this year.
Today’s vaccination targets 70,000 people consisting of 30,000 people and 40,000 students of junior high, high school, vocational school, and Islamic schools. This program was held in the provinces of North Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, West Java, Central Java, West Nusa Tenggara, Central Sulawesi, and Gorontalo.
I hope this vaccination drive can provide maximum protection to the public so that they are protected from COVID-19.
That concludes my remarks.
I thank you. (EST/EP)
