Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia during the Inspection of Surakarta-Gemolong-Purwodadi Road Section, in Sragen Regency, Central Java Province, January 23, 2024

I want to see the completion of all the roads that we are working on under Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads (IJD), totaling Rp14.6 trillion throughout Indonesia in 2023. In Central Java, we allocated Rp1.3 trillion to repair approximately 40 roads. In Sragen alone, Rp204 billion was allocated to build, – how many sections? three sections of roads here.

And, this Solo-Purwodadi road is the toughest. For decades, this road, every time we repair it, always gets damaged, always gets damaged, always gets damaged, and every year it gets damaged because the soil is dynamic. So, we built this Solo-Purwodadi road at a much higher cost using rigid concrete. The cost was big, but I can see that the result is good, I see that it is good and smooth. We hope that it will last longer so we don’t need to repair it again. Alright, that’s all.
