Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia on Postponement of Employment Cluster Discussion of Job Creation Bill Friday, 24 April 2020 at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. 

On this occasion, I would like to talk about Omnibus Bill on Job Creation, which is currently being discussed at the House of Representatives (DPR).

The Government had discussed with the DPR and the Speaker of the DPR has conveyed to the public that the discussion on Employment Cluster in the Bill was postponed. This is in line with the Government’s request. This postponement can also provide an opportunity for the Government to talk further on the substance and also to hear more inputs from the stakeholders.
