Journalist:

Excuse me, sir. You had a meeting with the British Prime Minister earlier. We would like to ask about the new strategic partnership between Indonesia and the UK that you discussed. Could you please explain what it entails, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto:

Yes, we see the UK as a partner that can make a significant contribution to our economy. They have advanced technology, strong financial capacity, and a clear interest in investing in Indonesia. We believe we can benefit from both their technological expertise and their financing capabilities. Therefore, I am confident that t this partnership will be highly beneficial for both countries.

Journalist:

What about the maritime sector, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto:

In the maritime sector, they will support our plan to build an initial 1,500 fishing vessels, because we intended to invest on a large scale in this area. We want to develop our fishing villages, improve the quality of life of our fishermen, and increase our people’s protein consumption, so this is very strategic for us. This initiative will significantly accelerate our economic growth and development, especially in the maritime sector. And, let me remind you, three-quarters of our homeland is sea, while our people’s protein consumption is still too low, we want to change that.

Journalist:

You also met with people in the education sector, a leading university in the UK, didn’t you?

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto:

Yes, just now.

Journalist:

What was your meeting about, sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto:

We want to invite them to deepen this collaboration. British universities already have extensive partnerships with the University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, and many other universities. They also operate campuses in our country, including in Singosari and Bandung; in fields that are critical for our future like digital technology. So, we want to accelerate, we want to catch up. We must achieve the highest standard of education, on par with the world’s leading universities. Okay. Thank you.

Journalist:

Thank you, Mr. President.
