Sir, another issue, sir. Yesterday there was quite a buzz at Halim [PerdanaKusuma] when you mentioned about the president, regarding campaign statements?

There was a question from journalists regarding whether ministers are allowed to campaign or not. I conveyed, based on the provisions of laws and regulations, let me explain. Law Number 7 of 2017 clearly states in Article 299 that the president and vice president have the right to take part in campaigns, it’s clear. So, I mentioned the provisions on election law, please don’t think otherwise.

Furthermore, Article 281 also clearly states that election campaigns involving the president/vice president must comply with the regulations; they should not use state facilities except for security facilities and should take unpaid leave. Everything is clear.

So again, don’t think otherwise. Don’t interpret it otherwise. I only conveyed the provisions of laws and regulations because I was asked, ok. Thank you.
