Public Service Mall is a solution to improve public services. This one-stop building offers various services, such as business license, driver’s license, immigration, general legal administration, and the like.

Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly said that those services can be provided thanks to the implementation of digital system.

The Minister also expected that the issuance of Law on Job Creation along with 45 derivative government regulations and four derivative presidential regulations will improve Indonesia’s public services. Thus, the country’s target to jump to the 40th place in the ease of doing business ranking can be achieved.

He added that the Job Creation Law becomes the driver of the development of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs). The Law regulates that an individual may establish a limited liability company which is a breakthrough for MSMEs.

“We should encourage small enterprises to level up and establish a legal business entity. If Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises provides managerial guide to them, and banking industry grants access (to capital) to them, we can imagine the great impact brought by them. For that reasons, we must ease the licensing process and improve services to the public at cities,” he said.

The Minister expressed hope that all regencies/cities will have their own Public Service Malls to provide fast and simple services to general public.

For the record, at the moment there are 35 Public Service Malls throughout Indonesia established to adjust to the characteristics of the respective regions in terms of the sectors of services, systems, and facilities.

In addition, 38 regents and mayors, on Tuesday (2/3), have signed the statement of commitment to establish Public Service Malls in their respective regions which aims to ease the licensing process and boost national economy.
