Purwodadi Market Rehabilitation to Complete in 2024, President Jokowi Says

In the series of working visit to Bengkulu province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (07/21) observed a post-fire rehabilitation design of Purwodadi market that experienced severity burns in April 2021.

The President said that the rehabilitation is projected to be completed by 2024 and is currently go out to tender.

“Once the tender is completed, we can start the rehabilitation. [The rehabilitation of] Purwodadi Market in North Bengkulu regency is projected to be completed in early 2024,” he told reporters after the inspection.

Therefore, President Jokowi expressed hope that the rehabilitation can be started by the end of August or early September.

On that occasion, he also handed out cash social assistance and staple food packages to traders at Purwodadi Market. In the meantime, First Lady Iriana gave goody bags to women and children in the market. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RAS/LW)
