Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the people have been anticipating the Surabaya-Malang Toll Road for years. Previously, the Malang Regent said it took almost three hours, sometimes it could take three-and-a-half hours. Now, after the construction finished, it will take about only an hour to drive.
The construction work of 7.8 kilometers has been delayed. But I have instructed them to finish the construction by the end of the year. Hopefully, it can be faster.
Secondly, I have instructed Minister of State-Owned Enterprises to ensure that the toll road will be free of charge until this years Eid holiday ends and the Minister has reaffirmed her commitment to do so.
I conclude my remarks in this good opportunity.
I hope that the toll road can accelerate mobility of goods, services, and people so that Malang will truly become a tourist area connected by this toll road, and we hope that the economic growth will improve and rise.
