Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia During Inauguration of Tebelian Airport, Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan Province 8 December 2021
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good morning,
Peace and prosperity be upon us all,
Distinguished Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet,
Distinguished Speaker of Commission V of House of Representatives Mr. Lasarus,
Honorable Governor of West Kalimantan and Regent of Sintang, and Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
Alhamdulillah, thank God, [the construction of] Tebelian Airport has been completed and is ready for operation. The airport is expected to serve as many as 75 thousand passengers every year and [the construction] costs a budget of Rp580 billion.
The airport plays a very important role in meeting the burgeoning demands from the people for air transport and to support the increasingly rising flow of people. And we must move swiftly in a world filled with fierce competition among countries. Smooth connectivity is the key. We must be able to provide easier, smoother and affordable connectivity among provinces, regions and districts so that new economic hubs can continue to grow in various regions.
We should be grateful that this year’s investment outside Java is increasing and higher than that in Java. The rise in investment outside Java is inseparable from our efforts to build infrastructure evenly throughout the country. And we do not centralize in building infrastructure in Java, but Indonesia for we believe that regions outside Java can grow rapidly if supported by adequate infrastructure, connectivity, and transportation so that production will increase, distribution will be smooth and a bigger, wider market can be reached. It will also reduce time and costs so that logistics costs are becoming more efficient and competitive.
That concludes my remark on this auspicious occasion.
And by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, today I hereby inaugurate Tebelian Airport in Sintang regency, West Kalimantan province.
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
