Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inauguration of Tugu Dam and Gongseng Dam, 30 November 2021, in Trenggalek Regency, East Java Province

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

This morning, alhamdulillah, we got two more additional large dams in East Java province, namely Gongseng Dam in Bojonegoro regency and Tugu Dam in Trenggalek regency. Both are ready to be used to strengthen our food security.

Tugu Dam was constructed with a budget of Rp1.69 trillion with a capacity of 12 million cubic meters and can supply irrigation water for 1,250 hectares of land while Gongseng Dam with a capacity of 22 million cubic meters is able to irrigate 6,200 hectares of land.

It is our hope that through these two dams, the community’s agricultural activities can be improved, farmers can be more productive, can plant and harvest more often so that their income will increase.

That concludes my speech on this auspicious occasion.

By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, today I officially inaugurate Tugu Dam in Trenggalek regency and Gongseng Dam in Bojonegoro regency.
