Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good Morning,
May prosperity be upon us,
Shalom,
Om swastiastu,
Namo buddhaya,
Greetings of virtue.

Distinguished Cabinet Ministers. Accompanying me today are Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Mr. Teten Masduki, Minister of Investment Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Mr. Erick Thohir. Please rise, Mr. Erick. He manages banks that will provide services to all of you. Also present today Presidential Chief of Staff General Moeldoko, please rise, Mr. Moel.
Distinguished Chairperson of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Mr. Arsjad, good morning;
Distinguished Commander of the Army Strategic Command (Pangkostrad) and General Commander of Special Forces Command (Danjen Kopassus);
Distinguished leaders, CEOs of State-Owned Enterprises and private enterprises;
Ladies and Gentlemen, owners of MSMEs.

Good morning. Have you got your Business Identification Number (NIB)? Show me your NIB. Let me see if you already have ones. All right, thank you.

When I started my business, the biggest challenge I had was not having a business license. It was in 1988 or 1989. I didn’t have a business license, so I didn’t have access to banking. I could not apply for a loan from banks because I didn’t have a business license. If I would apply for a business license back then, I had to pay a large amount of fee, so for several years I did not have the SIUP (Trade Business License) and TDP (Company Registration Certificate), which are very much needed by micro and small entrepreneurs.

A license is a very important thing. I have checked the OSS (online single submission) to see if the process to get the NIB is fast or not. I saw that the process was fast. However, I will check again later to see if the process to get the Business Identification Number is still fast.

I am glad that the amount of NIB issued from August 2021 to July 2022 are 1.5 million. Before the OSS, the license issued per day were only 2,000. Now, the amount has reached 7,000-8,000 per day. Nevertheless, what I want is not 7,000-8,000 licenses per day, but 100,000 licenses per day. Regional heads must encourage micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs to have license in the forms of Business Identification Numbers.

[The process for obtaining a license] is free of charge, right? If anyone has to pay in the process of getting a Business Identification Number, please come to the stage, I’ll give you a bike. Nobody comes to the stage, because all the processes are free, right? This is the key in business. Obtaining a license is important. We have 65.4 million MSMEs in 2021 and their contribution to our economy, our GDP, is very large, 61 percent.

Therefore, it would be a mistake if we do not pay attention to the MSMEs, since their contribution makes up 61 percent of the national economy and they provide 97 percent of job creation. We must pay attention to the fact that most of the job creation is not done by companies, Mr. Arsjad, but by micro, small, and medium enterprises.

It is good news that as of April 2022, the realization of bank loan has reached Rp 1,195 trillion and for micro business loan (KUR) we have budget of Rp373 trillion this year, half of which has been disbursed, namely 49 percent. I previously asked the CEO of BRI, the number is 49 percent. If you have had the NIB and have potential market, you can go to BRI or other banks that distribute KUR loan.

How much the interest rate, Mr. CEO? We have PEN funds, economic recovery fund, due to the pandemic, so the interest rate is still 3 percent per year. If you want to get a loan from a bank, you must have a good calculation. If you have the opportunity to get a loan of Rp 200 million, and you use Rp 100 million of it to buy a car, I am sure that you will not be able to repay the loan. Now there is an opportunity for you because only 49 percent of the KUR loan has been disbursed. There is still Rp 185 trillion available in the bank. Once again, if you want to get a loan, you must calculate it.

Are there many micro entrepreneurs here? Please raise your hands. Please come to the stage. Yes, those of you who raise your hand may come to the stage. It is for micro entrepreneurs only. If you are not a micro entrepreneur, I will ask you to go back to your seat. Yes, please come to the stage. The man sitting there, please come to the stage. This is for micro entrepreneurs. Yes, you may wear t-shirt.

All right. We have one, two, three, four, five… yes, five persons. Please introduce yourself and tell me your business.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Thank God I can be here with micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs. I hope your businesses run well, with the support from Mr. Jokowi and other officials. My name is Wageningtiyas, you may call me Wage, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Who is your name again?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Wageningtiyas. Wageningtiyas.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Wageningtiyas?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

And the nickname is Ms. Wage?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

That’s right.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Ms. Wage, what do you sell? What is your business?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Grilled bread, sir

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Grilled bread?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes. Bandung grilled bread.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Grilled bread?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Bandung.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Bandung grilled bread. Where is your business address?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

At Condet, sir. Balekambang.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

At Condet, Balekambang. How much is your daily gross revenue?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

My gross revenue is Rp 1 million per day.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Rp 1 million per day?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, sir, thanks to the online platforms.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

It means Rp 30 million per month.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

That is not micro business. The business is quite big.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

The revenue is fluctuating, sir. Sometimes I got Rp 500,000, sometimes Rp 1 million.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Rp 500,000 is relatively high. It means Rp 15 million per month, a large number. All right. I am glad to hear that.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, sir. It is because of the online platforms.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Online platforms?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, sir. During the pandemic, online platforms have helped our business.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

So, you use online platforms a lot for your business?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, sir, a lot of online selling.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Online orders?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

That’s right. There are four applications that we use sir. Can I mention them?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Yes, you can. Digitalization of micro, small and medium enterprises is imperative today. Those of you who have not accessed online marketing must immediately access online platforms. What online platforms do you use?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Gojek, Grab, Traveloka Eats, and Shopee. There is also Asiafood, but this is only available in Tangerang.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

All right. Everyone can use the online platforms mentioned by Bu Wage. Everyone can join her to get opportunities to sell your products. Bear in mind that once you enter online markets, you must be ready in terms of production. Underproduction must not happen. There are many cases of underproduction and the businesses are not ready, so you must be prepared if you receive many orders. I think it is good that MSMEs can enter online markets

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

God willing, I will develop my business, Roti Bakar Ametres, through a franchise system.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Franchise?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Right.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

That’s good.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

I have three branches, thank God, I have managed to reach the target of Rp 15 million per month. I have branches at Kemayoran, Setu, and Pondok Rangon.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

If the brand is good, the name of the bakery is good, the brand is good, the branding is good, as Ms. Wage said earlier, it can be developed though franchise system so that the business can be expanded with many branches.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

One more thing, may I ask something from the Government, sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Have you got a loan from bank?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, sir. I got KUR loan from BRI.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

KUR loan from BRI?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, Rp 50 million.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Rp 50 million?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

That’s right. I use the loan for my business,

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

How much is the interest rate?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Three percent sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Three percent? All right.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes. The interest rate is very low, sir, so I can easily pay for it.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

The interest rate is low because it is subsidized by the Government. If it is not subsidized by the Government, how much the interest rate will be? If it is not subsidized by the Government, the interest rate is 16 percent. The Government subsidizes 13 percent of the interest rate, meaning 3 percent should be paid by customers. The subsidy applies this year. Next year, I don’t know whether this subsidy will continue or not. If we still have a budget, we will continue the subsidy. The subsidy budget for KUR is not in billion, it is in trillion. Thank you, Ms. Wage.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

I have another point, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Yes?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Regarding the HKI sir. The HKI (Intellectual Property Rights).

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Intellectual Property Rights.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

We have followed directives from the Government, and the branding is important. If our brand does not have Intellectual Property Rights, the brand will automatically be taken by someone else.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

You can register it.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

At the OSS, sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Yes. You should register it immediately.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

All right. So, we can register our brand at OSS.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Yes.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Is the process easy, sir? Because I tried JakPreneur in the district and until now it has not been completed, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

I’ve never had one so I can’t answer that. In the past I have never applied for the HKI so I can’t explain it. Mr. Bahlil or Mr. Teten will explain about the HKI later.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

May I talk about another matter, sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

It is another person’s turn.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

One more thing, sir. Regarding halal certificate.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Halal certificate? All right, the last point.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Can the halal certificate process be conducted at the national level? I have a product…

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Halal certificate process at the national level?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes. For example, my bread production is located in Depok, while I live in Jakarta. The process to get the halal certificate is very difficult, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

… difficult to get the halal certificate?

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, because I have to go to Depok.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

All right, I’ll check it later.

Your point is very good because you talk about the challenges that the Government must solve.

Wageningtiyas (Micro Entrepreneur)

Right. We aim to get the halal certificate, Sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Yes, I got your point. If the process to obtain halal certificate is not carried out at the national level, it means that you have to follow the process in every region and pay for it, right?

All right. I got your point.

Please, tell me your name.

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Wa’alaikumsalam.

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

I thank Pak Jokowi for giving me the opportunity to stand here. My name is Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Ms. Asnawati.

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

I am from Kebayoran Baru.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta?

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

South Jakarta.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

South.

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

I try to preserve the culture of West Sumatra region by selling Minang food.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Minang’s signature food? Padang rice?

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

Sanjay Balado, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Pardon?

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

Red sanjay balado, green sanjay balado.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Sanjay Balado. What is Sanjay Balado?

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

Chips made from cassava, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

… made from cassava. How much is your revenue per day and per month?

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

I brought the sample, sir, sanjay.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

All right. How much is your revenue?

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

My revenue is Rp 5 million per month, sir. It is a new business.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Rp 5 million per month.

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

I also thank Bunda Ratu who has been guiding us and supporting us so that our products have the HKI and halal certificates, I also have the micro and small business license (IUMK).

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Who is Bunda Ratu? Bunda Ratu, please stand up. Who is Bunda Ratu?

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

She is from Department of Industry, Sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

… from the Department of Industry, All right. Bunda Ratu please give the same assistance to Ms. Wage. Thank you.

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

I have the HKI and halal certificates, Sir. My business is selling a Minang snack because I come from West Sumatra.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Good. Good. Don’t let our local snacks disappear or being taken by other countries. We have to take care of the patents and intellectual property rights so that they become ours. Our tempeh, for example, could be owned by an owner in Japan. We must pay attention to that.

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

I also had the opportunity to preserve the culture of the region, namely coffee, sir. My other business is selling coffee, sir, who knows, maybe I can compete with Mas Gibran. The name is Padamu Kopi, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Coffee?

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, Sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Selling coffee beans or opening an outlet?

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

Not outlet, sir. Later, God willing, Bunda Ratu will invite us to Sarinah, Sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Sarinah? If you want to go to Sarinah, you can tell Mr. Erick Thohir. The owner is Mr. Erick Thohir.

Asnawati Santi Rismawati Dewi (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

All right. Thank you

What is your name?

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Wa’alaikumsalam.

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

My name is Sulastri. You can call me Bude, Bude Lastri.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Ms. Sulastri, your nickname is Bude.

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes. I have a small business at Ciracas district, East Jakarta.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

From Ciracas. What is your business, Mrs. Lastri?

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

I was a street vendor selling vegetables.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Selling vegetables.

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes. After that I sold vegetables with my food cart.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Now?

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

Now I have a vegetable stall.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Street vendors selling vegetables, then using a food cart. Now …

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

I have my own vegetable stall. Thank God.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

You have your own vegetable stall. All right. I have a question; have you got any bank loan?

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

That is what I want to talk about, Mr. Jokowi. I have got KUR loan but I did not get micro and small business assistance from the Government. You told us to get KUR loan.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

What?

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

To avoid loan sharks.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Right.

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

After I got the KUR loan, when there was micro and small business assistance during the pandemic, I did not get it because I already got the loan.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Let me explain to you that out of 65 million MSMEs, only 20 million got the assistance.

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

I am a rondo (widow), Sir. I have been a widow since 1996 and I have three children. How come I did not get any assistance? I am also an elderly.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

You said that you are rondo. Rondo is a widow.

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes Sir, but thank God my son got Bidikmisi (scholarship).

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

All right. Do you want to get loan from bank? Do you have KUR loan?

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

I have got my loan. I have paid it and I got another loan.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

How much was your last loan?

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

Rp 25 million.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Rp 25 million. How much do you want to borrow now?

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

I must repay the Rp 25 million loan, Sir. The last loan has not been paid off, but now I have two stalls, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

I am glad that Bu Lastri is in good spirits. Our MSMEs, under any circumstances, in any economic situation, must have good spirits.

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

I never complain, sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

You have made good points, regarding loan and assistance issues.

Sulastri (Micro Entrepreneur)

I couldn’t get assistance because I already got the KUR loan.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

All right.

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Wa’alaikumsalam.

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

Thank you, Mr. President. May I hug you, sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Earlier, the one on my right and my left wanted a selfie.

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

It is a once in a lifetime experience, Sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

All right.

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

My name is I Made Janardana.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Pardon?

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

I Made Janardana. You can call me Made.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Mr. I Made. Mr. Made.

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, Sir. My business is herbal capsule production.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Herbs?

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes. Herbs from Indonesia. I started my business because my parents were ill back then.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

What kind of herbs?

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

Any kind, like brotowali, sambiloto. My parents were ill. The price of herbs was expensive, so I tried to produce them by myself. Thank God, my business continues to grow until now and my revenue is Rp 2 million per day.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

How much?

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

Rp 2 million per day.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Rp 2 million per day. Rp 2 million per day means Rp 60 million a month. Rp 60 million a month and Rp 720 million a year. Your revenue is very high. If the profit is 30 percent, it means that your profit is Rp 210 million. So, it is not micro business.

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

At the beginning of the pandemic, I was an online bike taxi driver. Because I had difficulties getting orders, I tried to do business. Thank God, because of my intention to help my parents, my business was able to grow as it is today. My difficulty now is to get a halal certificate and licensing from the BPOM.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Halal certificate?

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

… and BPOM licensing, because the requirements are too many and difficult to fulfill.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

What are the requirements?

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

Deed of establishment of the company, certification for its products and other requirements, Sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Bunda Ratu, please help him for halal certification.

I Made Janardana (Micro Entrepreneur)

Thank you, sir.

May I hug you again, sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Yes.

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Wa’alaikumsalam.

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

My name is Ngadimin. You can call me Amin. Amin.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Mr. Amin. What is your business? Where is your business address?

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

I am from Bojonegoro, East Java.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Bojonegoro?

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes, but my business is in Tangerang.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Your business is in Tangerang. What is your business?

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

I am selling chicken noodles.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Chicken noodles?

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes. Garuda chicken noodles.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Garuda chicken noodles. How much is your revenue per day?

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

Around Rp 500,000 to Rp 1 million a day.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Chicken noodle. Rp. 1 million a day is very good.

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

Thank God. It is because of the online platforms.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Selling chicken noodle through online platform?

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

Yes. As much as 90 percent of my revenue comes from online platforms.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

For food vendors, once again, use online platforms. Make the most of them. Follow Mr. Amin (Ngadimin). If the product is good, the taste is delicious, the packaging is appealing, selling them online is the fastest way, especially if the products are unique and have a character, such as snacks unique to Minang. Products that have differentiation will sell fast.

Ngadimin (Micro Entrepreneur)

I started the business during the pandemic two years ago. I used to think that the business was challenging because I had to rent a good and expensive place. Then I got information about Grab online platform. Initially I was selling my product in my rented house. Because the sales are good, thank God, now I can rent a kiosk even though it’s small. Now, 90 percent of my business revenue comes from online platforms. Thank you.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Good. All businesses start small. Once the business has its own market, it will develop into middle and big business. All businesses start small.

I am very happy this morning to meet all of you. Please be back to your seat. Please write down your names. Those who come to the stage please write down your names. I am going to give bikes for you. Anyone else want to come to the stage? It seems like everyone wants to come to the stage.

I am of the view that the problems in our MSMEs are the old problems. It has something to do with capital, license, patents, and marketing. They are problems that occur every year. I am glad that I have seen outlets and booths with MSMEs products which have good packaging. I saw high-quality products of food, good clothing design with local content and high-quality food and coffee.

We aim to achieve a better quality in terms of packaging and branding. We must continue the measures to scale up our capacity to achieve a higher level. We aim to ensure that our product can access export market. We must pay attention that currently there are no boundaries between countries and export to all countries is very easy. I hope that small businesses can make the best efforts to enter export market while still pay attention to the domestic market. We have a big domestic market.

Once again, I invite all of you, all MSMEs to make use of the KUR loan. We have Rp185 trillion left. You can go to BRI and other banks that provide KUR loan. The interest rate is only 3 percent because it is subsidized by the national economic recovery fund.

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. Tell your friends to have the NIB soon. Invite them all to have NIB to make it easier for you to access banks’ loans and to get the Government’s assistance for micro enterprises. If you don’t have it, it will be difficult for you to access the Government’s assistance.

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. Stay strong in running your business even though we know that almost all countries today are facing enormous challenges. Our country, thank God, is still in a good situation. Our economic growth in the first quarter was 5.01 percent. Our inflation, compared to other countries, is still under control. There is an opportunity for all of you to expand and scale up your businesses to boost the economic growth of our beloved country.

That concludes my remarks.
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
