Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia At Handover Ceremony of Bonuses for the 2022 ASEAN Para Games Athletes, Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, November 28, 2022

Distinguished Cabinet Ministers, Minister of Youth and Sports, Minister of State Secretary;

Distinguished Chairperson of the NPC (National Paralympic Committee) Senny Marbun, and Chef de Mission Andi Herman;

Beloved Ladies and Gentlemen, all athletes, coaches, and coach assistants.

First of all, I would like to extend my appreciation for the achievement that you have achieved in the 11^th ASEAN Para Games held in Solo. We won 425 medals, namely 175 gold medals, 144 silver medals, and 106 bronze medals. That is a very significant number: 425 medals, 175 gold medals, 144 silver medals and 106 bronze medals.

For your dedication and hard work, the Government will provide bonuses with the total amount of Rp 309 billion. The disbursement will be handled by Minister of Youth and Sports. If I am not mistaken, every gold medal winner will receive Rp 500 million. That is not a small amount. Rp 500 million is not a small amount for one gold medal.

The achievement achieved by all of you are pride of the nation and all of us. You have inspired us by becoming the overall champion in the 11^th ASEAN Para Games held in Solo. I hope that in the 12^th and 13^th ASEAN Para Games, we can maintain this achievement.

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. Once again, I congratulate all of you on your achievement.
