Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at Inauguration of Women and Children’s Health Services Building at Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital, in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, September 6, 2024
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Good afternoon,
May peace be upon us all.
As I entered the women and children’s health services building at Sudirohusodo Hospital, it was not like entering a hospital. It was like stepping into a five-star hotel. The ambience, room, interior, and furniture are similar to those used at hotels. The rooms are bright, unlike what I often see in regional hospitals, rather dark and dim.
The hospital consists of eight floors and one semi-basement with 263 inpatient rooms and intensive care beds. For your information, the construction of the maternal and child health services building costs Rp456 billion. In addition, the budget for the procurement of state-of-the-art, modern, and digital medical equipment that I saw earlier is Rp239 billion, which is not a small amount, while the budget for human resource development is Rp17 billion.
We hope that, by the establishment of maternal and child health services building, we will truly be able to well serve mothers and children, so that we can suppress, reduce, and eliminate maternal and child deaths in the future.
That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim. I hereby inaugurate Women and Children’s Health Services Building at Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital in Makassar, South Sulawesi province.
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
