Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Peace and prosperity be upon us,

Om Swastiastu,

Namo Buddhaya,

Greetings of virtue.

Distinguished Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR);

Honorable Rector, Vice-Rectors, and all Leadership of Universitas Terbuka;

Honorable Lecturers and Educational Personnel of Universitas Terbuka, both at the head office and in the regions;

Beloved Students wherever you are;

Distinguished Guests.

Our current Government sets its priority on the development of human resources (HR). We prioritize the development of human resources, both in terms of physical and mental health as well as education; education that aims to produce superior and quality Indonesian.

Quality education must reach all Indonesian without exception; education that opens the horizons of the nation’s citizens who are skilled and innovative, who produce great works and are able to fill and create employments for the well-being of society and the progress of the nation.

The COVID-19 pandemic must not slow down or hinder our main program. We must find the silver lining from the COVID-19 pandemic and use them as momentum to innovate, implement our educational programs. The Industrial Revolution 4.0, which has disrupted all fields, including education, must be managed and utilized. The use of digital technology, both for remote connectivity and various analytical automation, can serve as an opportunity and support higher education institutions to shift into edutech institutions.

Universitas Terbuka already possesses a strong foundation in utilizing digital learning. This foundation must continue to be developed to facilitate the mastery of students and lecturers towards the future technology industry, making it easier for students to learn from practitioners in various fields, including dynamics in the business world and in the industrial world.

To the big family of Universitas Terbuka, happy 37th anniversary. Stay innovative to realize higher education for all, contribute to building an advanced Indonesia that we aspire to be.

I thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. (FAI/MUR)
