Ladies and Gentlemen,

Distinguished Guests,

PRESISI Greeting!

PRESISI Greeting!

PRESISI Greeting!

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate all members of the National Police on the 77th commemoration of the Bhayangkara Day.

I wish the National Police the best in carrying out the noble mandate to serve the people, the nation, and the country.

At all times, the National Police officers come into contact with the people, protect the people, and serve the people. However, at the same time, they are also watched by people. The officers must be mindful of even their slightest movements that can be recorded and disseminated to public as well as cannot be covered up anymore.

Therefore, public trust to the National Police will always be put on test. How high public trust and how high public satisfaction are important. I am delighted to learn that public trust to the National Police has improved from 60 percent to 70 percent. This is good improvement and it must continue to be improved. The National Police must continue to improve itself, carry out reforms in all its lines.

Bhayangkara Members whom I am proud of,

All government’s programs need support from the National Police. Therefore, I would like to reiterate that the National Police has huge authority that must be applied in a positive manner. Do not abuse the authority. No more perception that no equity for all. Public needs security, equity, protection. I order the National Police to pay attention to these issues. The police must be able to provide assurance of protection, legal certainty, certainty of doing business to public, and entrepreneurs.

Challenges faced by the National Police ahead are getting tougher. The issue of public safety and order must be strictly guarded. Handling issues must be safeguarded quickly. National priority programs and development of the Nusantara Capital must be taken seriously. Service quality must be improved. Crimes with advanced technology must be anticipated. All of these require alertness and speed, mastery of technology and innovation, good public communication.

Bhayangkara Members whom I am proud of,

The National Police institution is like a broom stick. Each stick must be clean, straight, strong. The sticks are tied with the spirit of unity and synergy. No more blocks and patrons. The quality of human resources must be maintained from the beginning of the recruitment. Promotion system must be improved. Supervisory system must be tightened. Disciplinary system must be strengthened.

It is not common that troop inspection is carried out by walking, instead using a vehicle. Indeed, the inspection coveres a wide area but I am still fit because I realize that the grass on Gelora Bung Karno Stadium must not be damaged. So, if I had taken the car, the grass would have been damaged. So, I did the right thing.

Finally, be a true “Bhayangkara” who serves relentlessly to the people, the nation, and the state for the progress of country.

Long live the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia!

I thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
