Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Commemoration of the Zayed Humanitarian Day at Swiss-bel Hotel, Surakarta City, Central Java Province April 10, 2023

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Alhamdulillahi robbil alamin, washolatu wassalamu ‘ala asrofil ambiya’i wal mursalin, sayyidina wa habibina wa syafi’ina wa maulana Muhammadin, wa ‘ala alihi wasohbihi ajma’in. Amma ba’du.

Honorable Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, Bapak Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei,

Honorable Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Bapak Tito Karnavian,

Honorable Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Indonesia, Bapak Abdulla Al Dhaheri,

Honorable Habib Luthfi bin Yahya, member of the Presidential Advisory Board,

Honorable Governor of Central Java, Mayor of Solo City, Your Excellencies Ambassadors of the friendly countries in attendance.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today, we commemorate the Zayed Humanitarian Day, which is the day of the passing of the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He was a great leader who tirelessly fought for the values of humanity and solidarity. Humanity and solidarity are great assets for the world to face increasingly complex challenges. This noble initiative also reaffirms the Islamic principles of rahmatan lil alamin, realizing welfare, peace, and compassion for nature and all humanity.

Let us emulate the humanitarian work of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and may the values of humanity and solidarity become even stronger for all of us. Happy Zayed Humanitarian Day.
