Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inauguration of Ajibata Port Area and Other Six Ports as well as Four Passenger Motorboats (KMP), in Toba Regency, North Sumatra Province, February 2, 2022
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good afternoon,
Peace and prosperity be upon us all,
Horas,
Today, [the construction of] seven ferry ports in Lake Toba area has been completed and they are ready for public use.
These seven ports include Ajibata and Balige Ports in Toba regency, Tiga Ras Port in Simalungun regency, Simanindo Port in Samosir regency, Marbun Toruan/Baktiraja Port in Humbang Hasundutan regency, Muara Port in North Tapanuli regency, and Tongging Port in Karo regency.
Ports and motorboats are urgently needed by the people living around Lake Toba to support their daily activities and mobility, crossing from one port to another, improving inter-district and inter-regency connectivity.
To improve connectivity in Lake Toba area, Ministry of Transportation said that the Government is building thirteen ferry ports spread over seven regencies.
Distinguished Guests,
I see that what the people around Lake Toba need are not only ports but also motorboats.
Therefore, today, the Government is launching four passenger motorboats, namely the Pora-Pora motorboat with the capacity of 180 passengers and 21 vehicles, the Kaldera Toba motorboat with a capacity of 152 passengers and 15 vehicles, and the Asa-Asa water bus with a capacity of 150 passengers, and the Jurung-Jurung water bus with a capacity of 150 passengers.
The motorboats are essential because so far people used their own ships with unreliable safety standards.
I hope the operation of these ports and motorboats will support the super-priority tourism destination Lake Toba as one of the leading tourist destinations in Indonesia.
Access to various spots in lake Toba will be easier, faster, and more effortless.
This concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion.
By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I hereby officiate the operation of seven ports and four passenger motorboats. I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
May God Bless us all.
Thank you.
