Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Good afternoon,
Peace and prosperity be upon us.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are still grieving following the 2018 earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi province. We remember that the death toll reached 4,340 people, 175,000 people were displaced, and 68,000 houses were damaged. The total damage reached, we calculated, approximately Rp15 trillion.

I have issued Presidential Instruction Number 8 of 2022 on the Completion of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Central Sulawesi Province, which will end in December 2024.

Alhamdulillah, thank God, through the hard work of various parties, today we can say that public facilities such as roads and bridges, as well as public services such as education, health services, and social and economic activities, have been restored
And, today we will inaugurate the post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction of health service buildings, educational and residential facilities, and settlement infrastructure.

And, soon we will inaugurate the reconstruction of the Anutapura Medical Center Building at Anutapura Regional Hospital that was carried out from 2021 to 2024. We can see that the building covers an area of 19,000 square meters with a budget of Rp244 billion and is equipped with an emergency room, obstetric emergency room, polyclinic, radiology, lab, inpatient rooms, and central surgical installation.

This building is the first building in Indonesia to apply a technology-based isolation system with lead rubber bearings to withstand seismic power due to earthquakes. Earlier, I was shown a picture of some kind of shockbreaker under this building that can bend during an earthquake, but we hope we never have to experience one.

Second, we also inaugurated the reconstruction of Datokarama State Islamic University (UIN) in Palu, which was rebuilt starting from 2020 until its completion at a cost of Rp139 billion, covering an area of 34,000 square meters. The reconstruction includes the construction of various learning facilities, lecture buildings, student centers, auditoriums, sports facilities, and other supporting facilities.

Third, we will also inaugurate the construction of post-disaster permanent housing and settlement infrastructure that has been built from 2019 to 2024 at a total cost of Rp1.005 trillion. This includes the construction of 3,724 units of permanent housing worth Rp483 billion and settlement infrastructure worth Rp571 billion.

My esteemed audience,
May the post-disaster infrastructure be maintained and utilized wisely. It is expected that the community’s activities can fully return to normal. Social and economic activities can resume and recover.

This concludes my remarks. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I hereby inaugurate the Anutapura Medical Center Building of Anutapura Palu Regional Hospital, the reconstruction of UIN Datokarama Palu Building and Campus, as well as post-disaster permanent housing and settlement infrastructure in Central Sulawesi province.

I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
