Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inauguration of Centralized Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant (SPALDT) Bambu Kuning, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, May 31, 2024

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Distinguished Cabinet Ministers, Chairperson of the Commission 5 of the House of Representatives (DPR), Governor of Riau Province, Mayor of Pekanbaru, and Riau Community Leaders;
Ladies and Gentlemen;
My beloved children. It seems that it will be raining soon. You are not afraid of rain, aren’t you?

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today, the people of Pekanbaru have a centralized wastewater treatment plant to manage wastewater in Pekanbaru city, protect water quality, maintain quality of ground water, and protect raw water.

The wastewater treatment plant has been constructed since 2020 with the budget of Rp902 billion. The project was financed by the ADB (Asian Development Bank), State Budget and Regional Budget.

The plant has a capacity of 8,000 cubic meters per day with a household piping network of 11,000 connections, so that it can protect the raw water and water quality in Pekanbaru in the future. I hope that the wastewater treatment plant can be utilized to improve the quality of water services in Pekanbaru, and to maintain the quality of the environment.

That concludes my remarks. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon I officially inaugurate the Centralized Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant (SPALDT) Bambu Kuning, Pekanbaru city, Riau province.
