Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good morning,
May prosperity be upon us all.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Jakarta always has three big problems: floods, traffic jams, and spatial planning. Now we are here to talk about flood issue.

Floods in Jakarta, whoever the governor is, must be completed consistently, including the normalization of thirteen rivers, the management in reservoirs, as well as the sea wall and the giant sea wall. All must be resolved. If these three things are not completed yet, Jakarta will always be flooded. Whoever the governor is, he/she must be consistent in completing those issues. Actually the master plan is already clear in Jakarta’s Regional Planning Agency and in Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing. In addition, the Ciliwung canal to the East Flood Canal (BKT) project must also be completed immediately.

For the Ciawi and Sukamahi dams, the dams are dry type dams. The construction of the Ciawi dam was begun in 2016 with a budget allocation of Rp1.3 trillion and has a capacity of approximately 6.05 million cubic meters. The Ciawi and Sukamahi dams are expected to reduce water volume from 464 million cubic meters to 318 million cubic meters. Around 12 subdistricts will no longer be affected by flood owing to  the dams.

I order Governor of Jakarta and Governor of West Java, who are here, to handle all issues related to Jakarta’s floods consistently. Those related to the completion of the dams, the normalization of thirteen rivers, the Ciliwung canal to BKT, the sea wall and the giant sea wall, as well as the management of the existing pumps.

I conclude my remarks on this auspicious occasion. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I officially inaugurate Ciawi Dam in Bogor regency, West Java province.

I thank you. (EST/HD)
