Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inauguration of Cibitung-Cilincing and Serpong-Balaraja Section 1 Toll Roads at Gabus Toll Gate, Bekasi Regency, West Java Province, September 20, 2022

May peace be upon us all.

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Cibitung-Cilincing toll road that we will inaugurate is a part of Jakarta Outer Ring Road 2 (JORR 2). And we hope Jakarta Outer Ring Road 2 will be 100 percent completed at the end of 2023.

The 27.2-kilometer-long Cibitung-Cilincing toll road is a road that can accelerate goods transportation, especially goods from industrial areas in northern Bekasi and logistics areas in Karawang regency, Bekasi regency, so they are transported very quickly through Cibitung-Cilincing toll road to ports in northern Jakarta. This speed will make goods transportation easier and the speed will certainly increase the competitiveness of Indonesian products that will be exported.

Second, as for Serpong-Balaraja Section 1 toll road, it is a part of Jakarta Outer Ring Road 3. This is a start. Therefore, when JORR 2 and JORR 3 are completed, transportation from west to east, from east to west does not have to go through central Jakarta. It will reduce congestion in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. The Serpong-Balaraja toll road that we will inaugurate today is 5.1 kilometer long.

Coming back to Cibitung-Cilincing toll road, it was previously owned by Waskita (a state-owned construction company), then it was taken over by Pelindo (a state-owned logistics company). We hope it will serve container trucks carrying exported goods as well as imported goods to industrial areas, to logistics areas that I have mentioned before.

And by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I hereby inaugurate Cibitung-Cilincing toll road and Serpong-Balaraja Section 1 that we can operate soon.
