Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inauguration of Indrapura-Lima Puluh Section of Indrapura-Kisaran Toll Road, and Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Section of Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road, At Lima Puluh Toll Gate, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province, February 7, 2024

Good morning,
May prosperity be upon us all.

Distinguished Minister of Transportation, and Chair of the Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) Ibu Meutya Hafid;

Distinguished Governor of North Sumatra Province, Regent of Batu Bara, Regent of Simalungun, Regent of Asahan and Mayor of Tebing Tinggi, community leaders and CEOs of State-Owned Enterprises;
Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank God, this morning we will soon inaugurate Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura and Indrapura-Limapuluh toll road sections. The two toll road sections are part of the Trans Sumatra toll road. The Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura toll road section is a 20.4-km-long toll road, with the budget of Rp3.06 trillion, while the Indrapura-Limapuluh toll road section is a 15.6-km-long toll road, with the budget of Rp1.67 trillion. The two toll road sections will improve connectivity of the tourism area in Lake Toba, and improve logistics mobility to Kuala Tanjung Port and to Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (SEZ). We hope that this the area will develop quickly, and the toll road will speed up travel time from Medan and its surrounding areas to Kisaran and Riau province, so that it will boost economic growth in the region and its surrounding areas.

I am of the view that the construction of the toll road will attract more investment and more investors to develop economic potentials in North Sumatra province, boost tourist visits to super priority destinations in Lake Toba and its surrounding areas, and cut logistics costs to Kuala Tanjung Port and Sei Mangkei SEZ.

That concludes my remarks. We hope that the toll road will improve regional competitiveness, speed up the growth of new businesses and create as many jobs as possible.

By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I officially inaugurate the Indrapura-Limapuluh section of Indrapura-Kisaran toll road and Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura section of Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat toll road in Batu Bara regency, North Sumatra province.
