Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inauguration of Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road Section, Pekanbaru-Padang Toll Roads, at Bangkinang Toll Gate, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, January 4, 2023

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good afternoon,
May prosperity be upon us all.

Distinguished Minister of State Secretary, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing;

Distinguished Leaders and Members of the Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR);

Distinguished Governor of Riau Province, Chairperson of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), and Regent of Kampar Regency;

Distinguished community leaders;

Ladies and gentlemen,

The toll road from Pekanbaru to Dumai has been completed, and we can observe that the traffic is also very good, with more than 8,000 vehicles. Now, the 30.9 km long toll road from Pekanbaru to Bangkinang, which spent a budget of IDR4.8 trillion, will be inaugurated today. This toll road will be connected to Pekanbaru, to Dumai-Pekanbaru-Bangkinang to Padang. When will the project be completely finished? I cannot say when it will be finished, because it will be finished in the long run.

We hope that the toll road will speed up the mobility of people, goods and services as well as improve the competitiveness of existing products in Riau province. We also hope that we can grow new economic centers and create jobs and provide welfare to communities.

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon I inaugurate the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang section of Pekanbaru-Padang toll road in Kampar regency, Riau province.
