Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good morning,
May the peace be upon us all,

Distinguished Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet;

Distinguished Speakers of the House of Representatives (DPR);

Distinguished Governor and Vice Governor of West Kalimantan Province, Regent of Mempawah Regency, President Directors and Commissioners of State-owned Enterprises in attendance;
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen.

Alhamdulillahirabbil’alamin, let us express our profound gratitude to God the Almighty. Today, the construction of Kijing Terminal of Pontianak Port that was started in 2016 is now completed. The port is expected to strengthen competitiveness of top products of West Kalimantan province since we have seen the potential in crude palm oil, alumina, bauxite, and the like. The port has a capacity of 500 thousand TEUs and can accommodate eight million non-containers; it is huge. This is the largest port in Kalimantan Island.

Earlier, I asked the Director of [state-owned port operators PT Pelabuhan Indonesia] Pelindo, “How much does it cost to build this huge port? Rp2.9 trillion, he said. Therefore, this huge investment must be able to strengthen competitiveness and improve connectivity among ports, islands, and countries.

Secondly, I also order roads connecting the port and Pontianak to be expanded. Minister of Public Works, please take note of this so we can ensure smooth transportation of containers and non-containers, and our final goal, that is strengthening competitiveness, can be achieved.

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I hereby inaugurate Pontianak Port’s Kijing Terminal, in Mempawah regency, West Kalimantan province.

If you want to change the name of this port, please propose the new name to the Central Government and the President. I will accommodate all aspirations. However, today we have inaugurated it first.

I thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh.
