Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good afternoon,

Peace and prosperity be upon us.

Honorable Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet;

Honorable Speakers and Members of the Regional Representative Council and the House of Representatives;

Honorable Members of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) of South Kalimantan;

Honorable President Directors of PT Wika and PT Pandji;

Honorable Mayor of Banjarmasin and Regent of Barito Kuala;

Ladies and Gentlemen.

Thank God, the construction of Sei Alalak Bridge has been completed and today, we inaugurate this bridge so that it can be utilized by the community.

I heard that the community is impatiently waiting for the inauguration of this bridge because this bridge has a very important function as the main access route connecting Banjarmasin city with various areas in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan provinces. It also aims to solve traffic congestion after the South Ring Road was badly damaged by flood.

The 850-meter-long bridge, which was built with a fund of Rp278 billion, uses high technology as well as earthquake-resistant technology. It is estimated to last up to 100 years, God willing.

I hope that the bridge can strengthen inter-regional connectivity in South Kalimantan, facilitate inter-regional transportation flows, streamline logistics costs to encourage economic growth in surrounding areas, and create new economic centers.

After the inauguration, I hope the bridge will be utilized as well as possible to generate and promote productive activities in the community so that the impacts can really be felt by our people.

This concludes my remarks. I mark the inauguration of the Sei Alalak Bridge by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim.  (FI/MMB)
