Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Inauguration of Three Bridges (Cisadane A and B Bridge and Batuceper Bridge in Tangerang City and Tawing I Bridge in Serang Regency) on Cisadane Bridge, Tangerang City, Banten Province, January 8, 2024
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good afternoon,
May peace be upon us all,
Distinguished Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet—Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Minister of Trade, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces, and Chief of the National Police in attendance,
Distinguished Governor of Banten Province and Mayor of Tangerang City,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Last week, I inaugurated nine new Callender-Hamilton bridges in Central Java. Today, we inaugurate another three Callender-Hamilton bridges in Banten province. In Java island, there are 37 Callender-Hamilton bridges spread across several provinces; three bridges in Banten, 16 bridges in West Java, nine bridges in Central Java, and nine bridges in East Java.
We are aware that those bridges are over 40 years old so they need replacing as they have passed their service life and are prone to collapse if they carry logistics loads that are too heavy.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The total budget for constructing the three new Callender-Hamilton bridges in Banten province is Rp270.5 billion. First, Cisadane A and B bridge in Tangerang city uses a budget of Rp106.7 billion. Second, Batu Ceper bridge in Tangerang costs Rp123.2 billion, and third, Tawing I bridge in Serang uses a budget of Rp40.6 billion.
The bridge infrastructure will improve to boost road accessibility in Banten province, between cities, and between regencies, to enhance transportation of goods, people, and logistics, and to make transportation costs more efficient.
That concludes my statement and by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon I officially inaugurate Cisadane A and B bridge and Batu Ceper bridge in Tangerang city and Tawing I bridge in Serang regency.
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
