Bismillahirahmanirahim.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good morning,

May peace be upon us all,

Om swastiastu.

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

G20 Presidency is favorable for us to showcase our commitment to reduce CO2 emission through the use of electric vehicle (EV) during the series of G20 Summit and shows that Indonesia is a leading country in EV development. We will show the development from the upstream industries such as the EV battery and other components, to downstream industries such as the preparation of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) and home charging. We demonstrate the world that that ecosystem for electric vehicle is growing and developing rapidly in Indonesia.

In the efforts to support the G20 Summit, allow me to give my appreciation to the state-owned electricity company PLN for building 60 200 KW ultra-fast charging public EV charging stations which is the first ultra-fast EV charging station in Indonesia, and 150 home charging locations for all G20 delegates. Managing Director of PLN has mentioned that ultra-fast charging station has many plus points, including extremely fast charging duration which one vehicle takes less than 30 minutes for a full charge. It also allows a full dynamic load balancing that makes a full charge for multiple vehicles.

I want to underscore that EV is part of the country’s grand design in energy transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy. Our dependence on fossil fuel is high and up until today we are still importing fuel to meet the national demand which burdens the state budget (APBN), and increases current account deficit and trade deficit. Therefore, we must not let these problems still exist and must find a way to achieve energy independence.

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. By saying bismillahirraanirrahim, I hereby inaugurate the fast charging Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU).

I thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh.
