Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good afternoon,

May peace be upon us all,

Thank God, the construction of various infrastructure to support tourism in Labuan Bajo village has been completed and Labuan Bajo is ready to welcome the arrival of tourists.

I see that after the massive arrangement carried out by Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing [and] Ministry of Transportation, the face of Labuan Bajo has completely changed. Infrastructure is now complete. Next year, its airport will have its runway and terminals expanded. We also see that hotels, souvenir centers, creative hubs, amphitheaters, plazas, citywalks, and other public places have all been repaired. I notice that the difference is stark. Tourism-supporting infrastructure, such as roads around the areas and harbors that specifically serve pinisi ships, yachts, and cruises, is also ready.

After the inauguration today, I suppose the most important thing for us to do is to carry out massive promotions and prepare Labuan Bajo for international and national events. For example, it will be used to support the G20 Summit and it will also be used for ASEAN Summit in 2023.

That concludes my speech on this auspicious occasion. And by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I hereby inaugurate Waringin Peak and Batu Cermin area arrangements and eight road segments in Labuan Bajo.
