Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

May peace be upon us all,

Distinguished Ministers,

Distinguished Governor of Special Capital Region (DKI) of Jakarta,

Distinguished Excellency, Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia,

Distinguished ranks of MRT management,

We must continue to provide modern, comfortable, and integrated transportation, especially in DKI Jakarta. We are aware that in 2019, the construction was completed and Phase 1 [of the MRT] operates from Lebak Bulus to Bundaran HI.

And today, we will begin [the construction of MRT that will operate] from Bundaran HI to the Old Town. There are seven stations along the way: Thamrin Station, Monas Station, Harmoni Station, Sawah Besar Station, Mangga Besar Station, then Glodok Station, and Old Town Station.

We hope that with the continuation to Phase 2A, we can continue to Phase 2B from Old Town to West Ancol. And after that, the FS (feasibility study) of the East-West Line must also be immediately completed and must be executed soon.

Do immediately complete the FS of the route from Fatmawati to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah as well and execute it.

Therefore, DKI Jakarta will have a subway, an MRT, an LRT, TransJakarta [BRT] that are integrated with all available [transportation] modes. This is a service from the Government, the Government of DKI Jakarta to the people so those who want to commute from one place to another can use  public transportation available.

And today we will begin [the operation of] tunnel boring machine (TBM) for Phase 2A. To that end, by saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I hereby launch the tunnel boring machine this afternoon.

I thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
