Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Opening of ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of ASEAN Youth at Meruorah Komodo Hotel, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara Province, May 10, 2023

Excellencies, Honorable ASEAN Leaders,

Representatives of ASEAN Youth,

I am pleased to meet the ASEAN Youth, future leaders who have positive energy and creative ideas to advance the region.

We hope ASEAN youth will play an important role to play in the sustainability of Southeast Asia as a stable and peaceful region, as well as in becoming the Epicenter of Growth. ASEAN have the strength to achieve the goal: above global average economic growth and regional stability, as well as since 34 percent of the ASEAN population are youth. Therefore, the younger generation of ASEAN needs to formulate the best measures to capitalize on such potentials.
