Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Groundbreaking Ceremony of D’PrimaHotel Nusantara, Nusantara Capital, East Kalimantan Province, September 25, 2024

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good morning,
May prosperity be upon us.

Distinguished Minister of Transportation, Minister of Investment, Vice Chairperson of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) Authority, Governor of East Kalimantan Province, President Commissioner of PT [Primahotel] Manajemen Indonesia Mr Frans Wantono and the President Director;
Ladies and Gentlemen.

Building a house is a very complicated process, let alone building a national capital in a country as big as Indonesia. It is not something easy or simple. We have to address many challenges and obstacles.

We have made calculation to transfer our civil servants and state apparatus here. Our calculation covers housing, schools for children, hospital readiness, and playgrounds for children to visit on the weekends. This is the ecosystem that we want to build so that the daily life here will be similar to the daily life in other capital cities.

I am of the view that the operation of the Nusantara airport will have a very good impact. I have tried the runway myself, although its capacity is not yet optimum. The plan is to be completed in December. I think the prospect of businesses in the Nusantara is very promising. Previously, we have been developing five-star and four-star hotels. The construction of D’PrimaHotel, a budget hotel, will provide more options for those who visit the Nusantara.

Let me extend my appreciation to the construction of D’PrimaHotel, a budget hotel with a capacity of 154 rooms, with an investment of Rp100 billion. We hope this project will be completed soon. Mr Frans has told me that “[This project] will be completed in a year.” We have to work efficiently, not spending many years. We can complete the project in one year, eight months, or nine months.

Alhamdulillah, today we are going to start the construction of D’PrimaHotel Nusantara, a leading local hotel chain that has 19 hotels in Indonesia.

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I hereby declare that the construction of D’PrimaHotel Nusantara officially begins.
