Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at Topping Off Ceremony of Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Indoor Multifunction Stadium (IMS), Jakarta Special Capital Region, January 13, 2023

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good afternoon,
May peace be upon us all.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We will continue to develop Jakarta so that the province will have facilities equivalent to other big cities around the globe.

This multifunction arena is one of the biggest indoor facilities in Indonesia.

As Minister of State-owned Enterprises said earlier, [the GBK IMS] can seat 16,250 spectators. It will also be able to function for sport events, including basketball, badminton, futsal, and volleyball competitions as well as arts and cultural events, and big music concerts.

The GBK IMS has been built since [April] 2021 with an area of 50,300 m2 and a budget of Rp630 billion.

That concludes my speech on this auspicious occasion.

By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I would like to state that the Topping Off of Gelora Bung Karno Indoor Multifunction Stadium is complete.
