Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia during a Tree Planting Activity, 13 November 2021, at Mount Pepe Forest Area, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province
This morning, I was at Mount Pepe Forest Area in Central Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara province. Together with the community, ministers, and governor, we have planted many trees, especially eucalyptus and fruit trees.
I want the local community to take care and protect the trees that have been planted, so, they can grow well and have an economic impact on the communities residing near the Mount Pepe Forest Area. And also, to protect our environment, to prevent landslide and flood.
Once again, I ask you to take good care of these [trees], because we are still in rainy season, very good for planting. If the people take care of the [trees], it will be even better.
Can you take care of the trees? Really?
I thank you. This concludes my statement.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. (FI/MMB)
