Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia During ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting with High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision Meruorah Komodo Hotel, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara Province, May 10, 2023

Your Excellencies ASEAN Leaders, Eminent Persons, and ASEAN high-level representatives,

I’d like to appreciate the hard work of members of the High-Level Task Force for the past year and ASEAN must stand ready to face increasingly complex challenges. We have to prepare for the worst but remain hoping for the best. Here, the role of the High-Level Task Force is highly crucial in identifying future challenges and opportunities and in ensuring the contribution of ASEAN for the advancement of the region and the world.

The 2045 ASEAN Vision must be more adaptive and forward looking. It cannot be business as usual. Our discussion today will elaborate out-of-the-box and transformative thinking. Therefore, ASEAN leaders will directly hear the report and plans of the High-Level Task Force.
